2010, Handyscapes #1 resolution is the same as it was in 2009 its to “LOWER OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT!” Our plan is to maintain the development of implementation, and Eco-friendly initiatives, as we did in 2009 and will keep changing our services, daily operations and administrative procedures in order to make our carbon footprint as low as possible!
To demonstrate our commitment to lowering our carbon footprint, we are offering eco-kickbacks or specific charitable donations for all our customers that join us in our struggle to lower our carbon footprint! Keep reading to see how you can help.

Using organic fertilizers and different techniques to dispose of any toxic pesticides.
As many of you are aware Ontario has a ban where pesticide use and toxic chemicals can no longer be used. Handyscapes fully encourages this ban and we now offer our customers a “Lower Carbon foot print” alternative, where all of our products and fertilizers are all eco- friendly and 100% organic so that no damage is caused to your property, This is a great opportunity that we would like to suggest and encourage to all our customers and the general public to help reduce all of our carbon footprints.
Snow removal, salting and implementation of Eco salt.
Instead of using the traditional rock salt we promote the use of Eco salt which is the product that we predominately use for snow removal and salting. Similar to regular salt but more effective than rock salt even at lower, temperatures its less corrosive to the environment will cause less damage on your property and will not stain your concrete.
E-billing and E-newsletter
Every year, month and day a variety of invoices, bills, envelopes and flyers etc are being built up causing large amounts of paper waste. We ask all of our customers to sign up for e-billing and e-newsletters to prevent this from happening. As a thank you from Handyscapes we will plant a tree in your name to those who sign up and take advantage of this useful resource.
Educating clients on how to conserve water and become eco- friendly .
Water plays a very important role in our environment it allows animals, plants humans and any living creature to survive. We are trying to do everything possible to maintain its quality for today and for the future. It doesn’t hurt to know information on how you can be water conscience, which is why we are providing newsletters and information that contain detailed information on how our customers can regulate their water usage daily which in the end will help lower the planets carbon footprint.
Making sure all equipment and vehicles are well taken care of and reducing carbon emissions.
All of our trucks follow a strict schedule made by our auto-service technician, which is to maintaining excellent engine efficiency and lowering our carbon emissions. Our equipment that we use is inspected regularly, including oil changes, blade sharpening that will all help reduce engine wear and promote better health for your grass.
Promoting and implementation of the 3 R’s – reduce, reuse and recycle.
At Handyscapes every one of our employees has a great respect and is educated in the 3 R’s so that any waste from our any of our job sites is disposed of properly and placed in recycling programs that are available at the time and place.
